Coffee pods – Easy Serving Espresso

This is a coffee brewing system introduced in the 1970s. It was developed as a standard by Illy and later adopted by several other coffee and machine manufacturers. ESE aims to simplify the process of brewing a high-quality espresso. ESE pods (also known as pads) are small, round filter paper discs filled with ground coffee. The pods are 44 mm in diameter and contain approximately 7 grams of ground coffee. Unlike many other capsule systems, these pods are typically biodegradable.
